Twist & turns, humor & romance

Reviewed by Debra Gaynor for Reader Views (7/07) Glory cannot move on to the next level of the spirit world until she makes things right. She came to realize that she was "not only to fix the future but to acknowledge the past." Graham McKenzie and Ruth Webster were high school sweethearts over thirty years ago. Graham already knew he was called into fulltime ministry. Everyone thought he and Ruth would marry, but it did not work out that way. Ruth made the decision to marry Robert Webster and move to Dallas. Glory's "mission" was to redirect their paths. The lives of others would be affected by the changes. Graham is a minister in a small country church. He likes the simple life, safe and peaceful, with a sense of contentment and wellbeing. Glory interrupts his peaceful existence bringing turmoil into his life. Ruth made a decision many years ago and now must examine her choice. Pride stands in the way. It is always difficult for "two people who actually loved each other to give in and just forgive." Could Glory manipulate the people she loved with a still small voice in their ear? I was hooked from the moment I picked up "The Redemption of Glory." I could not put it down. Glory is an adorable character. When Glory began questioning why she should change her name, I knew she was strong willed and gutsy. The characters were all well developed; Scott, Julie, Ruth, Graham and Angela all became part of my life as I immersed myself in this great summer read. "The Redemption of Glory" is a story filled with love and romance. There are twists and turns that will keep the reader reading. I was disappointed that the author included certain details; it was unnecessary and detracted from the tone. The facts were tastefully given, but it would have been better to leave more to the imagination. I recommend "The Redemption of Glory" by Beth Hargrove to fans of romance.
