This is a great book! I really liked it! I don't wont to say to much about it because it is a sequel to another book called "The sword of Denis Anwyk". Anyway, it's about a girl named Alinor who is under a secret identiy (I wont tell you who she really is) and is staying with the Barens wife. She finds out that somone is trying to kill her so she goes to a trusted friend named Denis. Denis was just made squire and is going to the far away city of Whyndhamshire with sir Robert. Alinor is origonaly from there and so she goes along. They encounter trouble along the way, all the while, trying to stop a war from taking place. It is a REALLY good book! I strongly encourage you to read it. You learn important lessons as well. This book really encouraged me to read more (and belive me, reading is not my favorite thing to do). It's a really griping story and exciting as well. I really like this book and I think that anyone would enjoy it.
A fast-paced, gripping story

This book is not only full of historic facts and a good plot, but the symbolizm is quite intriguing. For instance, the king represents God, and Baron Mordred represents Lucifer, the archrivals of all time. Denis, Max, and all the rest represent God's children and they have the same questions about their King as we might very well have about ours. The historic information is quite accurate, such as how so many parents' deaths were caused by the terrible Black Death. There is also the investiture of a squire, and how peasants in England, many years ago, did not mix with nobles and officers of the king
