Excellent Book For Young Children

These are delightful short stories about the dog residences of "Houndsville". The stories are cute and fun. My 3 year old loves this book even though the pages are mostly text. There are very lovely colorfull pictures on each page. Preschools tend to like more pictures than words but these stories keep her attention. As a parent who has to read the same books over and over again, this one is an enjoyable read even after the 20th time! Highly recommend.

Better than 5 stars

I bought this book for my daughters who were 4 at the time. They are nearly 6 now and , we all love this book. It has an adorable collection of short stories that all tie together in "Houndsville". There are several dog references like the names of the dogs and they read "Pawsmopolitan" magazine. Those things always strike me as cute and humorous, although , my daughters don't quite get the joke yet. The pictures are incredible. And, each page has bones hidden in the pictures somewhere. I don't know what my kids like best, looking for the bones or reading the stories. A completely fabulous book!!!
