Mesmerizing

This book engages you from the first page and does not disappoint. I am eagerly awaiting the next book by this author.

Greanias Keeps Getting Better

When I read the first few pages of The Promised War, my first thought was, "Oh boy. The Temple Mount. Again." (Is the sarcasm coming through?) Apparently, editors went on a Temple Mount-related thriller binge a few years back, hence the spate of such books showing up in my review stack. The Promised War is different. The plot follows Israeli counter-terrorism agent Sam Deker. Amidst the constant threat of violence between the various Middle religious and ethnic groups, Deker is captured and tortured, but later escapes. He goes down and wakes in ancient Israel at the time of the siege of Jericho, and Deker finds himself immersed in the ancient war. Greanias masterfully blends the best aspects of the modern thriller and historical fiction. The end result is his finest work to-date. This book doesn't feel like your typical "time travel" tale. This is not a shallow "escape from the past" story in which history is painted with a superficial brush. Deker experiences a critical moment in his nation's history through the filter of his 21st century prejudices and interpretations of that event, while simultaneously finding himself in the middle of said event. It is a pleasure to witness Thomas Greanias's growth as a writer from book-to-book, and I'm looking forward to reading his future works. The Promised War comes out today, so don't miss it!

Best Thriller on Amazon!

I have read a lot of books in the last few years and, by far, The Promised War is the best thriller in the bunch. The Promised War is fast-paced, engaging and well written. It has lots of awesome historical references and great characters. This is Greanias' best book to date - I can't wait for the sequel to this one!
