The fictional town of Shoreline in western Michigan is shocked by a murder that only Lou Searing and Maggie McMillan can solve! This description may be from another edition of this product.
Discovered Baldwin with the "Murder on the Badger". Liked the local references to places in Wisconsin and Michigan that my wife and I had visited on our sailboat. Not Macdonald or Spillane but I find them very engrossing.
Inclusive of different people with disabilities

As the editor says, the senior HS student has a learning disability. PLUS, the heros of the book have a hearing impairment and are in a wheelchair. (There is nothing mobility impaired about Maggie!) Good book for readers unexposed to people with disabilites to feel more comfortable learning what differently-abled really means! These heros earn respect and admiration, pity is not needed nor desired here! It is rare to find (hero-type) people with disabilites in a mainstreamed book. Highly recommend!!
