A common man proves to be more princely than aristocrats in this Hawaiian version of The princess and the pea. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book is fun for the language/slang and cultural context, as well as the spirited illustrations. One of the best things about it, though, is that it is not some pathetic girl who is saved by a prince. I'm no feminist, but I think a lot of those types of stories don't help girls any; goodness knows there are enough women sorely waiting for their princes to drive up in a Mercedes. This is a gender neutral book that both boys and girls will like. Takes a bit of practice to learn to read it out loud though!
Kids loved the story

Got this book from a Dr's visit. Kid's loved the story, we had to read the whole book before leaving the Dr's office. Very cute "local" story.
