The martyred priest & the oppressive regime

This is a riviting and dramatic report of Poland during the years when the Solidarity movement threatened Soviet control. The evocation of the courage of the priest, and the bumbling cowardice of his killers, is a contrast that is inately dramatic. The incident prompted a play production in the UK produced shortly after the event. One is also reminded, reading this book, of the enormous impact Christian teaching can have on oppressive regimes. John Paul II prayed at his grave. A worthy place to pray.
