A popular president seeks re-election, and is determined to keep his son's homosexuality a secret. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book was a really good read for me! This was the first "GAY" book I read. The story line was not all crazy and way far out in the left field. I like to think that this could happen if a president had a gay son, however I don't see secret service agents trying to protect a gay teenager! This book is easy to follow there is not a lot of bouncing around, and the ending is somewhat disappointing, but not all books can have good endings.
An Incredible Thriller !

WOW!!..This book has it all...intrigue, power mongering, suspense, passion, sex,...and more importantly....a story to tell. What is the story?...Simply stated POWER has a tendency to take people away from the things that actually matter in life, and in so doing, corrupts the power seeker, and tragically, all those around him. This is a very powerful book. While it might appear to be fluff from its title and gay-sub-plot, it is in fact a gripping novel of major proportion. While some of the plot line is dated by events since its writing, the book still works. THIS IS A MUST READ.
Excellent Read

I realize some of the reviews weren't very flattering, and I must confess I bought the book only because I thought the guy on the cover was gorgeous. But, if you are the type of person who found the movie "The American President" (Michael Douglas) or the TV series, "West Wing" to be even marginally interesting, then you will definitely like this book. It definitely is a bit more intense than the above mentioned dramas, but it's definitely worth the read. I, typically, like Gordon Merrick and Felice Picano and some of the newer vampire novel writers, but I started reading this book last night at work and only took a break to drive home after work and then finished reading. It kept me totally captivated. I'd love to see this turned into a movie.
Easy, quick read - great suspense with tragic ending

I just finished this book tonight. Last night, I had about 30 pages to go, and went to sleep thinking of the possible happy romantic endings I would find tonight. Mr. Kraus kept the suspense high through the last page, but while justice will be served, love's lost. The ending was not what I had entirely hoped for. A few details don't make sense to me, like how DJ could've found valium to drug his captor but can't find the car keys, and would the President's wife really have done THAT at THE convention? An epilog about Parker and Elaine would've put more closure on things. A little contrived towards the end, but still, you won't want to put it down. Sign me up for Mr. Kraus' next book!

Great characters who are at their finest in plotting the next career move, no matter whose dead body they have to step on to get there. Lots of political machinations to hold your intellect, as well as characters that tug at your emotions. A great read!
