great alternative to today's overdone pizza-and-DVD thing...

The parties described in this book are lovely. As I recall, each one celebrates a different season. The themes of respect for, and enjoyment of, nature, occur throughout the book. Children can create egg dyes from natural ingredients, roast their own pumpkin seeds, and pretend they are going on a great expidition. Fall is celebrated with different flavors of honey and an interesting apple salad, summer with ice-cream snowballs and fruit-juice butters. The crafts are engaging. With Winnie the Pooh as popular as ever, this book should be readily available but I believe it is out of print. I wish I hadn't lost mine years ago.
