Great Love Story!

This is a wonderful love story. Eden and Chase go through things which most interracial couples do but when you add politics to the mix, it only adds more drama. This story was great from the first page to the last! Another great story by Giselle!

Definitely Gets My Vote

This is the first novel I've read by Mrs. Giselle Carmichael and you can bet I'll be looking for more of her novels. 'The Politics of Love' is a fast-paced and charming romance. I was totally enthralled with Chase and Eden from the very beginning. The characters were well-developed and Mrs. Carmichael handled the interracial issues very well, without following the normal stereotypes. The suspense of the campaign and the bumps in the road for the couple keeps the story flowing. Mrs. Carmichael also delivered some very sexy and erotic love scenes. I LOL, got angry and even had to pull out the Kleenex because I was truly touched by this story. I couldn't put the book down, yet I truly hated for the story to end because the love between Eden and Chase just leaped off the pages. A Definite MUST Read if you are a true romantic at heart! Way to Go, Mrs. Carmichael!

Can't Get Enough...

The Politics of Love is an absolutely amazing love story. It opens with an interesting plot that pulls you in from page one. You don't forget that the main characters are interracial but it's not an issue either; instead their differences add to the sensuousness and passion that develops between them. There are also some pretty hot and heavy love scenes as well, that left me wishing he was real. I could not get enough. After finishing this book in a matter of days I went out and purchased another one of her book's I'll be Your Shelter.

LOVED IT!

Giselle Carmichael hits a home run! The Politics of Love tells the story of a black grade school teacher, Eden Warner, whom falls in love with a popular, rich and white mayoral candidate Chase Matthews, after he comes to her elementary school to give a speech. Eden, who also comes from a well-known and prosperous upper middle class black family, is not in awe of Chase extreme good looks or his priviledged old money background. What takes place between them is absolutely magical. Ms. Carmichael weaves a story of grace, poise, romance, racial issues and brings us a story you will not want to put down. Eden is concerned a relationship with Chase will destroy his life-long dream to be Mayor just like his grandfather before him. What unfolds is a beautiful love story of committment which will leave you wanting more.

All's fair in love and politics

What started as a person eavesdropping on a private conversation turns into a wonderful love story. THE POLITICS OF LOVE begins with Eden Warner who is angry with mayoral candidate, Chase Mathews because he is disrupting the education of her students by using them for his campaigning agenda. She all but says he doesn't have a real interest in the school system, but she doesn't count on him overhearing her conversation. Chase who is a bit peeved by her statement is completely enamored with Eden physically but he also loves her passion for education and issues an ultimatum. So for one week Chase is in Eden's classroom, not only charming the students and faculty, but her as well. The couple's immediate attraction also came with issues; Eden is dealing with family problems and Chase is struggling with trust. The couple must also deal with the rigors of campaigning, their blossoming feelings for one another and someone who is trying to derail their involvement. Eden not wanting to cause Chase the election by alienating his constituents who may not be so accepting of interracial relationships. She tries to give Chase an easy out, but she underestimates his persistence. With all they must face, Eden and Chase manage to carve out a romantic and fulfilling relationship, but they must be willing to be strong and believe in their love for one another. THE POLITICS OF LOVE is a fast-paced and believable romance. The story is part of the imprint Noire Fever, which presents interracial romance stories. The characters were well-drawn and Carmichael handled the interracial issues very well without sticking to a lot of stereotypes. The suspense of the campaign and the bumps in the road for the couple keeps the story flowing. Carmichael also delivered some very erotic and sexy love scenes. Carmichael had me vested in these characters from the beginning. I laughed, got mad and even had some misty-eyed moments because I was really touched by this story. I truly hated for the story to end because the love between Eden and Chase sensually leaped from the pages and it reminded me of why I love to read a good solid romance story.
