Excellent supplemental text

I used this text, plus The Chicken Smells Good and The Salsa is Hot a lot when I was teaching English to beginner and intermediate students. I usually chose one story every week or two (for a class that met 3 times a week. The Pizza Tastes Great has excellent dialogues for very beginner students, but the stories don't seem to match that level and worked better for high beginner students. The comprehension activities are helpful but get a bit monotonous. I would suggest getting the workbook if you or your program has the money to spare, or simply adapting some of your own ideas to assess comprehension.
