Teen fencing champ, Elizabeth Latimer, is a girl of her times. Armed with the latest palm computer, she leaps into an oceanic vortex in pursuit of Daniel, an oh-so-awesome pirate. He knows the... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Elizabeth Latimer is a pirate hunter. You could say pirating and pirate hunting are in her blood. Her Dad was a sailor. Her mother a pirate (well, she salvaged old shipwrecks for a living). What Liz didn't know was that even further back she was actually related to the pirates Calico Jack Rackham and Anne Bonny. This little known fact becomes all too important as Liz is faced with the disappearance of her mother. Coincidentally, Liz's Mom was working on Rackham's ship when she found the key to traveling back in time. Unfortunately, in the process, Liz's Mom messed up the timeline. Now, Rackham and Bonny never get back together and never have children. So Liz has to go back in time, fight pirates, get arrested, escape from the gallows, and match make two extremely stubborn pirates. Then, rescue her mother and get herself home before they all cease to exist. Sound easy? The Pirate Vortex is the start of a great new adventure series. I don't want to spoil the ending of the book but I will say that not all the loose ends are tied up and the end of this one. More adventures are definitely on the horizon. Furthermore, although touched upon throughout the book, we end up really wondering about the true identity of one of the main characters.
