Dr. Karen Hayes is a breath of fresh air from all the other books out there. Thinking outside the box is what got this to be a very interesting book. There were many things that I did not consider until I read this book and I have been a horseman more than 20 years. A good read for anyone who wants to build or improve a stall.

Unique approach

Enjoyed reading this book as author clearly has spent much time and energy in researching a perfect stall. Ideas were clearly presented and well though out. I have no experience with nor know anyone who has used the bedding she recommends, so cannot comment on its effectiveness or maintence requirements. She puts forward a convincing review, so would consider it if I find some others to talk to regarding the product. Well worth a read for the horse owner.

Real horse people are notorious for being very particular about how they care for their horses and they all have various "ideal" ways of doing so. The Perfect Stall and the related book by the same author is a very informative, up to date survey of an ideal way of caring for a horse. Her internet links are also a sign of her mission to keep horse owners informed of the latest as new products and methods are discovered based on her diligent effort to make things right for the horse. This book and the accompanying book, "How to be the Perfect Horsekeeper" gave me the confidence to make it right for my horse (and future horses) as I plan to use the knowledge gathered from her books to keep them at home without spending unnecessary and excessive time and money. The benefits of horse care methods that respect the environment are also essential today.
How To Get Stalled

This book was very informative. I learned how to fit the stall to the size of the horse and not the other way around. The best way to insure the best air flow in the stall. All the ideas in this book are to the horse's advantage if you use the stall for more than just a place to feed.
