Best friends with George Washington

This is the fourth book in the Mayflower Brides series. I had a hard time getting interested in the beginning of the book. It covers a lot of the history of our beginning nation, but after I did get interested, I found it to be a good read. Faith is a rich widow, who has the time to do what she wants, without fearing what someone would do to her, if her deeds did not sit well with them. Faith's childhood friend was George Washington. When her parents die unexpectedly, when she is a girl, George found her a place to live, a family loved her, and be able to pick out her own husband out of the many suitors who would come to call. Matthew is a spy who is working for the Patriot's cause. His life is in danger all the time. It is decided, that they need a female counterpart who will look inconspicuous in certain situations. Faith decides that she is the one for the spy position. She is given a location to meet Matthew and she codes the messages that she is given, so if anyone else comes across them, it won't do them any good. Come and see what surprises that the author has for you. I received a complimentary copy of this book, from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.
