I see that several other reviewers didn't like this novel, but I loved it. The concept of a boy being chosen and used as a spy/secret agent was intriguing to me, especially since the story is relatively true. I was shocked at many of the things he was expected to do, but I can't rate the book as bad because some of the characters are barely civilized. It just kept me reading and reading, no boring recitation of the facts and people, like an official biography tends to have. I learned a lot about the people and planning behind many of the WWII battles, and it helped that I knew something of that period of history beforehand. My big complaints are the end, or rather the lack of one, and the lack of a "debriefing" about how much was true and how the author got his information. So it's not Pulitzer Prize material--it's still a great read!

I think this book is the best one I've ever read, although it may not be true and the hero's name is not Cristopher Creighton I still enjoy the book all the same. I also am amazed on how well it tied in with acual history.

My mom bought this book a long time ago, and I found it in her "Old Book Collection." I really enjoy this book! It's full of action, suspense.... everything! If you like books about World-War-2 you should really read it. It may be a hard book for thoes of you out there to find, but if you happen to find it read it and share it with others. I give "The Paladin" a 5 star rating for the plot line and for the super way it was written! PLEASE read this book.
Great book. Impossible to find.

Whether its true or not this book was excellent. It seems that all to often the people behind the scenes are forgottten. Perhaps in this case it was the only option, but I always felt bad for the unknown hero. The only other thing I can say is...REPRINT PLEASE!
