good

I've read a couple of LA books now, and while I think she creates fabulous heros, the stories, as great as they start out, become tedious about 2/3rds of the way through. Ashe and Bel were perfectly fine, but the content tended to suffer after a while.

Entertaining but not ambitious

I am enjoying this book much more than the rather implausible Graustark/imaginary kingdom title, The Dangerous Mr. Ryder, that was the first in the Ravenhurst family series. It does need a correction. Throughout the text, Louisa, Elinor's mother, is referred to as "Lady James" Ravenhurst -- the proper terminology for the wife of the younger son of a duke -- but on the family tree in front, Louisa's husband is listed as Lord "Henry" Ravenhurst. It would probably be easier in the subsequent books of the series to change the family tree than the text of this book.
