Hand's down my favorite Jessica Steele novel. A true masterpiece

What can I say I love this one. I've read and re-read this book a dozen times in 3 months. From the back cover Kathryn had been joyously anticipating her wedding to Rex Kingerbys... until she found him one week before the wedding in bed with the secretary! Horrified she returned his ring. Kathryn couldn't have known that Rex's injuries in an accident would prevent the truth from coming out that she'd be accused of callously jilting Rex! Nate Kingserby Rex's older brother was another surprise. He regarded her action as an insult to his brother and family for which Kathryn must suffer. Nate got the wrong impression of Kathryn and therefore hated her and wanted to punish her. Nate got his wish and Kathryn suddenly has to work for him. Kathryn is quite smitten with Nate even confesses her love to him after a heady interlude together. Page 135. Then the real love story begins. This is the part of the book that is hilarious. You can feel the hatred dripping off the pages. What makes this book extra special is Kathryn and Nate spend majority of the book together either in the office or out and about. I also appreciated that you get to hear Nate's feelings throughout the book not just the final chapter. Kathryn should and could have told Nate all about Rex but didn't want to blacken his name. But the way she finally reveals the truth about Rex is why this is hands down my favorite book. This book has everything betrayal, outrageous lies, revenge but most of all love. I have bought more than 70. Jessica Steele novels. Hoping to find one that is as good as this one but alas this is the best.

Kathryn found him in bed with his secertary Maxine Vernon, and Maxine explained it wasn't the first time, but Rex assured her Maxine meant nothing to him.Kathryn has a thing about faithfulness, and she gave Rex back his ring.Rex was in an accident soon after that, and his older bother Nate came to have Kathryn's head on a slab.Nate and the rest of the Kingersby blamed Kathryn for Rex's accident, all except her immediate boss George.The Kingersby's stared to close ranks against Kathryn, but she hung in there, until the truth came out.I also like Susan Fox, Rebecca Winters, Essie Summers, Betty Neels, Diana Palmer and Eva Rutland.
