Never disappointed...

None of his books have disappointed me, so there is no reason NOT to add this one to the collection. Just like all his books....this is a MUST READ!!

Brother Man, Brother Man!

I discovered Brandon Massey's books by "accident" a few months ago, and I'm hooked. First I read "Dark Corner," and I just finished "The Other Brother" last night. The man is a genius in the supernational/thriller/horror genre. His books would make fabulous movies. All I can say is get "The Other Brother", either in audio or print form. You won't be disappointed!

Caught Off Guard

"The Other Brother" was my first venture into the mastermind of Brandon Massey and I LOVED it. Isaiah Battle plots revenge on his wealthy estranged father and his father's family. I followed along behind Isaiah as he reaked havoc on his father's family and pissed me off at every turn. I'm thinking, "This dude is evil incarnate," and I was steadfastly rooting for the "good guys" to win. However, by the time I made it to the end of the book (and I hated for it to end) I had to ask myself, "What just happened here?" Just when I thought I had a hold on what was going down, Massey made a liar out of me. Massey packed "The Other Brother" full of surprising twists and turns and had me sitting on the edge of my seat throughout the entire novel. I knew that when I impulsively threw the book in my purse to cart to work with me that I was irrevocably hooked. I couldn't let it loose until I had turned the last page! The ending was surprising, horrifying, tear-jerking and shocking. I will definitely be adding Massey to my list of must-read authors. The Brown Recluse Brown Recluse Books

When those skeletons in the closet come back to bite cha...

I always look forward to whatever Brandon writes... and once again, he pens an exceptional, well written tale... The Other Brother is the story of an upper middle class black family, the Reid Family, who reside in Atlanta - Theo Reid, CEO and founder of the highly succesful Reid Construction Company; Gabriel Reid, his son, who is being nicely groomed to take over the company someday; daughter Nicole, who although not involved in the company, is a successful corporate lawyer in her rite; and wife Margaret, the ever loving and supporting family matriarch... All is peachy in this family... You can tell that from the old family portrait on the wall taken so many years ago, every one with their afros, smiling... the perfect family indeed. But everybody got a skeleton or two rattling in the closet, itching to break out... and that skeleton is the illegitimate son fathered by Theo Reid in the city of Chicago some 30 years ago, Isaiah Battle... Isaiah is the spitting image of his father, but due to living in poverty in the hard streets of Chicago, Isaiah is a hardened thug and seasoned criminal. After Isaiah's mother dies, Isaiah vows to get revenge on his father and his family for leaving him and his mother in such a impoverished lifestyle, while going on with his own life and having the perfect family, perfect life, etc... Soon after his 30th birthday, Isaiah is on the road in his suped up Chevelle, heading full speed to Atlanta, itching for some "get back". Hence, the background to another one of Brandon Massey's perfectly penned stories... And as in all of his other stories, this great author does something that I absolutely LOVE: presents an amazing story with SOOO many layers. This story could be read on so many levels... It is a captivating thriller... a beautiful love story... a story of struggle... a dive into the supernatural... and a story that highlights the importance of family and familial bonds... As usual, when I pick up a book by Massey, I'm saying "I'm just gonna read the first couple of chapters, get a feel for what's going on"... then I look up, and several hours have passed, and I am halfway through the book... Everything he writes is just that good- just draws you right in, holds tight, and won't let go... And I love the fact that the book is set all over my hometown, the ATL!!! That's a real plus... Go out and get it... you won't be disappointed! Definitely a page turner... Really though.

Loved this story

I was enthralled by this well written story about good and evil. Such a gem about family, evil and misunderstandings.
