A stunning and entertaining expose of the confusion in Darwinia

W.R. Bird reviews the evolutionist literature (journals, etc.) to expose the unpublicized confusion in almost every field related to evolutionary studies. As a noted biologist said, every scientist assumes Darwinism to be right, because that's what they've been taught, yet each in his specialty constantly finds evidence that something's very wrong with the theory. To witness this chaos in print is entertaining indeed, though tragic. A wide-ranging evaluation which includes abiogenesis, neo-Darwinism and its competitors, and cosmology. Required reading for any true lover of science.

An impressive resource

This is certainly a comprehensive collection of evidence against evolution and for "abrupt appearance", covering a wide range of issues. Vol. 1 deals entirely with the science, and my favorite was the biochemical evolution and abrupt appearance chapters, about the origin of life. Vol. 2 deals with religious, legal and philosophical issues. I found the sections on the law of excluded middle (i.e. creation and evolution are the only real alternatives), and it is also very important to see the religious nature of evolution.

Most important book of the 20th..., for the 21st Century...

For the serious layman, advanced student, educator, and those in high academic circles, as well as those who make policy, these 2 volumes serve as a superlative foundation (a primer for all) for understanding what science is, and in contrast of what science has become and how it is promoted in the media under the heavy indoctrination of "evolutionistic" thinking and its impact on our western educational system as well as society as a whole (especially in the case of United States) in the last (20th) Century. And what it could potentially be in the realm of true science, access to all available information of alternative scientific theories without censorship at the appropriate levels of education. The benefits being that of a more enlightened population capable of greater critical thinking abilities as well as the proper attitude of an open minded and sharing atmosphere for all concerned with the advancements in all sciences. And the overall benefit to society as a whole... the nation, neighbors... the world. Bird has set a very balanced tone which is typical of those desiring only that all the relevant facts be known to everyone. It is a book that definitely needs more exposure as well as consideration for going BACK into print. Volume 1 deals with definitions and evidence, and Volume 2 deals with law and education. Textbook material indeed, reading BOTH volumes has given me a very satisfying complete picture of such an important topic that neither should be left out. And the dilemma we face if this information is ignored or intentionally brushed aside without careful inspection. Thanks to "The Theory of Abrupt Appearance", I now have one more cornerstone upon which to build a more complete and sound world view. I believe this book can still be bought NEW at (WWW)ICR(ORG) and almost impossible to find in any public library (too bad).

An excellent apologetic resource.

This two volume set is by far the best apologetic resource that I have ever come across. From a neutral point of view, Mr. Bird, a lawyer, presents the cases for both theories of Evolution and of Abrubt Appearance. The first volume deals with the scientific issues and arguments. The second deals with the moral and philosophical issues. For anyone who is curious about the origin of life, matter and the universe, these books are a MUST to have. And, needless to say, the theory of evolution does not come out smelling like roses...
