As a busy mother of 8 children under the ages of 12--I'm always looking for new ideas to help keep us all on track. I definitely picked up some great "new" ideas from this book to add to my on-going collection of ways to be more organized and in control. She makes the read fun and quick! Very easy to follow when you are looking for specific topics. A great reference to come back to over and over again. As a writer myself, I appreciated her sense of humor and style!!
It helped me!

As a lifelong packrat and very unorganized person, this book is the first book that has ever actually motivated me to really become organized and I've actually read it all the way through and followed it's tips. A great thing about this book is that you don't have to read all the way through. Pick a chapter and dive right in AND it gives you great solutions/options for quick fixes or major rehauls. I'm newly married and only have one small baby, but I'm hoping that as a SAHM, this will get my butt in gear and keep it there for years to come. SOLD on this book, Nicki :)
A parenting bible.

Practical Help for Packrats

As a single parent, I thought I knew every time saving organization trick in the book -- but not every one in THIS book! I found the segments on space organization (closets, bedrooms) particularly helpful, since I have limited space and tend to be a packrat. What I loved best about the book, though, is the non-judgemental tone. I half expected to feel guilty about all of the things I HAVEN'T done, but Tinglof's wit and style immediately put those fears to rest. Even better, the ability to choose between "Major Tune-Ups" and "Quick Fixes" allows me to tailor her suggestions to my own life and ever-changing circumstances. Bravo!
thank you ms. tinglof!

I have read every organizing book on this planet. All of them had good ideas but The Organized Parent is much better suited to my needs. I like that it is divided up into sections identifying different areas of my home and my life (I especially liked the sections on finances and travel). This format doesn't overwhelm me. I can go to any section i need help with and pick and choose from the ideas listed there. After reading other organizing books, i feel defeated when I can't live up to the author's standards! Then I add the book to the clutter pile! Ms. Tinglof's book shares a lot of common sense, parent experiences and humor.I highly recommend this book to everyone - but especially fellow clutter-holics.
