awesome book ! A must read!

Shannon Thomas is a thirteen year old girl who lives in Tenessee. She has Hodgkins disease,a type of cancer that is deadly. Shannon is tired of all of the things she has to go through during chemo like her hair falling out. One day Shannon is in the doctors waiting room anxious to see if she will have go through more chemo. She was talking to a girl who says that there is a girl named Sister Euphrasia in New Orleans who can cure you with just the touch of her hands. In the same day she learns she has to undergo more chemo. Shannon knows her parents would forbid her to go. So Shannon knows she needs to go to see Sister Euphrasia by herself. The meaning of this story is to never give up. That is one of the reasons I really like this story. It is interesting to see the people and things Shannon runs into next.

The Only Way Out

Overall, not a bad book, the author tells a story of a 14 year old girl named shannon thomas who has hodgkins disease and has had chemo for the past two years when her doctor tells her she is in remission, but when the doctor moves away the new doctor tells her new studies show more chemo could help her. She meets a girl named Kim in the waiting room of the office who tells her of a Sister Euphrasia in the French Quarter of New Orleans who can heal these certain diseases. Knowing her parents would forbid this she takes off on a journey from a suburb of Madison, Wisconsin to the heart of New Orleans to find this Sister Euphraisa. She makes many friends on her journey, some come close, others she knows only for a short time. I would reccomend this book to anybody that wants to read it, it will keep you up all night wondering what is next, then the cravings make you pick it up and read some more.

This is a great book, and it is full of suspense.

I read this book called The Only Way Out by Deborah Kent. This is a great book about a girl with trenendous courage. You see,14 year old Shannon Thomas was diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease when she was very young. She has had to undergo chemotherapy for a very long time, and finally her doctor told her that she was in remission. Shannons happy for a while, until her doctor moves away, and her new doctor says that she needs more chemo. Well anyways,Shannon meets a new friend in the waiting room that says there is a lady that lives in New Orleans that can heal certain diseases just by waving her hands over your body. Shannon knows that her parents wont let her go,so she takes off on a long journey that starts out lonley, but ends up bringing her many, many friends, one of wich becomes somewhat close to her. Some of her friends that she meets are:Mrs.Tilden,Godzilla or Zil,Blake, and Norma Jean. I have only read one of Deborah Kent's books, but I think that she likes to write reality-fiction. This is a great book, and I suggest that YOU read it.

Friendship comes through

Shannon Thomas has had it with chemotherapy. Hearing about a woman who might be able to heal her cancer, she runs away to seek the woman out. Along the way she meets many people who's caring touches her, like the street girl who befriends her. Zil eats out of garbage cans, but when she finds $12 on the ground she is willing to give all to Shannon to help pay for the treatment of the woman who might heal her. Eventually Shannon finds the healer is free. "You can't charge for a gift." says the healer. But Shannon cannot be healed by this woman, so it has all been in vain...or has it? Meeting the wide variety of characters Deborah Kent depicts Shannon has come to realize her destiny: more chemo. Deborah Kent has done a wondrful job of describing each and every character in their own place, with a strong plot and the fact that not all stories have happy endings, but that friends can make everything endurable.
