A Basic Reference for the Magic:the Gathering CD-ROM

This book is a well written explanation of Magic and how the game's mechanics work. Its appendices of opponents' decks and trade value of cards is very useful. There is less on game specific strategy than I would have liked. The book avoids mentioning any loopholes or strategies that are particularly effective because of the limitations of the program's AI. That's why I call it a reference tool rather than an excellent all around text. There is important information that is not contained in the book. For example, several program revisions have been released since the book was published. For a list of current bugs, glitches, hints, as well as things you only think are bugs in the game, please check out the bug lists at http://www.xs4all.nl/~bpm/mtgbugs.htm
