Worlds Collide

1979-Emma Webster is fed up of helping her con man father with his cons. She decides to dress up as someone else and run away from him, her mother and her younger brother John Thomas or J.T. Present Day- John Thomas and Emma are all grown up and John asks Whit Lewis to find the sister that left more than 20 years before. Whit tracks Emma to Florida were she is living as Susan Roberts Wright. At least that is what Whit thinks. He and Susan Wright meet and start to like each other- and it is established that Susan is Emma. There is only one problem-Someone is breaking into the restaurant Emma owns and is after something or someone connected to Emma's past. Wonderfully entertaining!

This was my introduction into the works of Fay Robinson, the 2001 RITA Award-Winning author, and it will definitely not be the last book I read from her. She found a wonderfully new topic with this story, dipping into the world of deception within a very unique family, and presenting surprisingly warm characters that were enjoyable to read.The other reviewers provided very detailed descriptions of what this book is about, however, I would like to add a few comments on the content of this book. The details Ms. Robinson provided about the unusual career of scam artists, from the very simple to the very elaborate ways they "earn" their money, is alone a fascinating read. However, add a little romance and a scam artist on the run from her own family, and then the father of her child, and you have a real winner!I highly recommend this book, and find it refreshingly different and very entertaining.

Fay Robinson has done it again in creating dynamic characters and a fast-paced read.Private investigator Whit Lewis travels to St. Augustine, FL to discover if Susan Wright is really Emma Webster. Falling for the beautiful restaurant owner is not part of his plan.Susan has things to hide, and Whit, who masquerades as a tourist, hasn't been entirely honest with her, either.Gaining each other's trust while thwarting danger, and trying not to fall in love are two of this story's plot points, but the talented Ms. Robinson adds a suspense dynamic, wonderfully drawn secondary characters, and sparkling prose to create a stunning adventure of intrigue and deception that will keep you reading. Very highly recommended.

However, what will happen to any permanent relationship not built on trust when she learns the truth that he is no tourist?Fans who relish an engaging contemporary romance will want to read award winning Fay Robinson's latest tale. The story line is fun as Whitaker and Susan play a game of cat and mouse even while love blossoms. Emma now lives as Susan Wright, proprietor of Illusions, a successful restaurant with marvelous themes enacted with costuming she inherited from a friend. She has never told her son the truth of his parentage, of her identity, or of the past. Whit's arrival in her life forces Emma to face the moral and ethical dilemmas her life chooses have created. Author Fay Robinson creates a delightful read in THE NOTORIOUS MRS. WRIGHT with its unusual combination of opposites, secrets and danger. The skillful manipulation of ethical and moral dilemmas force Emma to confront the past in order to create a future. Her concerns for her teen son particularly reveal an endearing vulnerability; her ability to survive extraordinary circumstances with her resourcefulness and skill reveals her incredible strengths. Whit's nonjudgmental acceptance proves to be refreshing even as he struggles with his own ethical dilemmas. With an unusual and fast paced plot and these eccentric, yet charming characterizations, THE NOTORIOUS MRS. WRIGHT comes highly recommended.
