The Nonsuch Lure

This is one of my all time favorite reads, I've read it at least a dozen times in the past 20 years. It wears well with time too, you find yourself thinking of it when you least expect it. Not only do you get a feeling for Tudor and early Colonial times, but you have this wonderful mystery to unravel...I won't spoil it, but it's really worth the extra effort to locate a copy of it!

Nonsuch Lure

Nonsuch is a riveting read, full of intrigue and captivating emotion. The historical aspects of the story are also fascinating in their detail. It makes you question how far you would go to find your own true love. If you like books with an "immortal beloved" feel, try The Beckoning Ghost by Catherine Kohman. It's also one of my favorites. I devoutly wish Ms. Kohman and Ms. Luke would both write new books like this.

a definate "lure"

The Nonsuch Lure is a wonderfully written love story which has the power to touch me every time I read it. If you believe, as I do, in a "forever love" this book is a must. It combines history and fantasy and comes up with a story that you want to read in one sitting. I have read this book about 30 times over the last 15 years and still enjoy it every time.

A lovely read --one of my all-time favorites!

If you enjoy books that combine history, romance (without being schmaltzy), overlaid with going back in time, this is a must read, if you can find it. The past and the present are skillfully and evocatively interwoven in this very well written book.

Speelbinding if out dated read of an archaeologist's journey

This book had me riveted and physically sick over the dramatic unfolding of it's plot. Of course that was when I was thirteen and subsequent reaings have not affected me so physically and the setting is outmoded but I still find it enthralling and as engrossing as ever. If you have ever felt that you have been somewhere before, maybe drawn to a certain picture, knownwhat a room would look like thoughyou have never been there - this book is definately worth looking into. Pity it is out of print but I found it in the library. Good luck hunting it out!
