dictators vs democracy

Gunnar Sevelius' book clearly demonstrates that when people and countries adhere well to the nine pillars they develop a society that is successful. He traces the development of man from his origins starting with the hunting/gathering period to the present. He shows that when groups develop under a dictator, king, or a very strong person whose primary aim is power, the nine pillars are not followed very well, and the people generally lead a difficult life. He traces the development of several countries such as Germany and Japan showing that only after they developed societies that emulate democracy, as both Germany and Japan did after World War II, do they become world trade leaders and their people lead good lives. He also traces the development of the five world religions against the same nine pillars. Finally, he discusses the present problem of health care (the eighth pillar-access to medicine) and compares the health care in Sweden, his native country, and the United States. The book is a fascinating read.
