I'll begin with this: these Nightmare on Elm Street books are almost impossible to find at an affable price. Keep them if you have them.
Dream Warriors, Dream Master, and Dream Child are my favorite movies of the entire franchise. I unfortunately couldn't find a copy of Dream Warriors that wasn't a small fortune. But I did find this duology of 4 and 5. Make no mistake, this is written as a descriptive version of both movies.
Dream Master follows a group of friends starting with Kristen as the main character, then switching to Alice, as they deal with the ultimate evil that is Freddy Krueger. I will note, there is an error in chapter 8 where the narration says Kristen instead of Alice.
Dream Child follows Dream Master, with maybe a year of time separating them. Graduation is a thing in the recent past and Alice is dreaming of Freddy Krueger again. I found an error in chapter three of this one, grow should be glow. Another error I found is in ten where Jason is witten instead of Jacob.
The writing is what you'd expect from a book of this sort. It's detailed in the gore scenes to the point there's no mistaking what's happening. Honestly, it's great in my opinion lol
There ARE differences between the novel and the movie for Dream Child. They don't change much but there are a couple of scenes that aren't in the movie; which just made it better in my opinion.
The only thing that would have made this book better, would have been if it covered Dream Warriors as well, since those three movies were their own storyline really and should have definitely been written into a trilogy instead of just the last two.
I give this book 5 of 5 Paws.
Pretty good...

If you are expecting these to be exact copies of the movies, don't bet on it. NOES 4 has a few changes in it, for example, Rick's Kung Fu death is different. NOES 5 is completely different from the movie. Same plot, different way of looking at it. Still a very good novelization in my personal opinion!
A NEW BATCH OF NIGHMARES

I was surprised by how good this book was.In 4: A young girl finds herself gaining the skills of her friends as they are offed by Freddy. In 5: The main from the fourth finds herself caught in dreams as she is awake. She discovers that Freddy's attempt to take over her unborn child is the cause of this. Both novels were quick, simple, and surprisingly suspenseful reads. The main character was sypathetic as she discovered that her friends are dying because of her ability to join others in dreams. So, every time she sleeps, Freddy pulls one of her friends into the dream with her and forces her to watch as they die. Freddy fans will find this an enjoyable read, as will others. The writting is obviously intended for a teenage audience. This is surprising because of the inclusion of swearing in the novel. Heck, the first paragraph of part 5 details a sex scene between two teenagers. This is not too bad, though, so I will still recomend this read to anyone who can find the book.
