A wonderful introduction to Modern Philosophy

I read and reread this book when I first became interested in Philosophy. Kaplan looks at various schools of Philosophy, starting with Pragmatism going through Logical Analysis and Existensialism and provides a clear and highly readable introduction to each area of thought. He also includes sections on Indian Philosophy, Buddhism, Chinese Thought. Kaplan has a real mastery of the ideas and problems of each school of Philosophy he surveys. Picking up recently and rereading certain passages I have been reminded of what an outstanding work it is.
