Captain Thadeus Hampton Jefferson a former FBI agent and Sergeant Ernest Fredrickson educated in criminal justice, are old war buddies from Vietnam. They retired a few years apart to a sleepy little town called Del Placa, FL where life becomes sedate and fishing is their only excitement. Ernie finds his neighbor dead and becomes suspicious it wasn't from natural causes.

His curiosity gets the best of him so he enlists the help of his friend Hampton and they embark on a very impromptu investigation of their own but when they piece together clues they learn the neighbor had a disturbing past and it leads them to an unsolved FBI case of extortion and murder and missing millions.
