ADDICTIVE!

The Trixie Belden Series is evocative of another time yet so addictive it brings one into the present with a feeling "that everything will be alright" - just perfect reading for any age.

Jim and Trixie Forever!!!

I'm convinced. Jim and Trixie will someday fall in love and marry! Why else would she have that diamond ring. *wink* Speaking of diamonds, this series shines with the richness of yesterday and the feel of tomorrow. Julie Campbell created wonderful characters and these books are wonderful for rainy days or trips to the beach. With Trixie, you can always count on mystery and much more.

Great memories from my childhood...

I love the sweetness of Trixie and Honey as they get into "scrapes" together. All the Trixie Belden books are very entertaining, and I am happy to recapture some of my youth.

TRIXIE BELDEN

I've read them all - I own them all. Trixie Belden has been one of my favorites since I was very young.

Read it for the characters

I have a love/hate relationship with this book. In some ways it is the richest Trixie Belden volume that Julie Campbell wrote - her wonderful skills in characterization and dialogue are on full display here. As some of the other reviews have noted, some of the scenes involving tomboy Trixie's efforts to pretend to be dressing up to try to "vamp" a boy she doesn't even really like are hilarious. Other scenes involving Trixie and her brothers are notable for their wit and the realistic and amusing depiction of sibling rivalry. In short, the characterization is just wonderful, as good as anything in any children's fiction I've ever read.As one other reviewer notes, however, this book is definitely lacking in the mystery department. That's disappointing and seems unnecessary. It's failure to "deliver" on that requirement of the genre unfortunately mars what is otherwise an outstanding piece of fiction writing.
