Great Book

I read this series of books when I was younger and I kept them and let my daughter read them. So when I saw you could get them again I wanted to get a set for her to have as her own. This is a very good read for all people young and old as I'm rereading this after she gets done. Mary

Pure Nostalgia!

I read Trixie Belden as a young girl and am re-reading them. The entire series needs to be reprinted.Too few of them are being reprinted.Great series for the young and old..any age!!

Trixie Goes Spelunking

Trixie and her friends are visiting Uncle Andrew again, this time at his cabin in the Ozarks. On a rainy afternoon, Trixie finds an article about the search for some ghost fish. Certain that this is the perfect way to raise some money for their latest project, Trixie convinces the others to join her. But things begin to turn sour when they meet their guide. Slim has a nasty streak, and there's something about him that Trixie doesn't trust. Throw in a mysterious figure seen near an empty cabin and talk of ghosts and the Bob-Whites will have plenty to keep them busy. This book always raises a wishy-washy response to me. I thought a mystery surrounding a cave would be cool as a kid, so I had high hopes. The story starts off rather slowly, with lots of talk about ghosts that doesn't seem to lead anywhere. Frankly, this makes the locals come off as stereotypically superstitious, which does bug me for some reason. Trixie and Honey seem to have reverted to their personalities from the beginning of book one, and they're just as annoying now as they were then. However, the story picks up in the second half of the book. I would still call the plot an adventure with mystery elements, but it really begins to move and is actually quite fun. This isn't the strongest entry in the series, but is rather fun over all. It's still a thrill to see Random House re-releasing these books and keeping them just as I remember them from 20 years ago.

Marvelous! - Classic Trixie

I have always loved the Trixie Belden series, but unfortunately they went out of print before I could get them all. I am 22 and an avid collector now. If anyone knows a good source for finding them, then let me know. The whole series is wonderful for young adults (guys and gals)and is exiciting as well as entertaining without going either the sex route or the violence/blood route. This particular book happens to be one of my favorites. Trixie, Jim, Honey, Brian, and Mart journey to the Ozark mountains to stay with the Belden's Uncle Andrew (The Happy Valley Mystery). While there, they learn how to spelunk, catch a thief, and of course do something to help the less fortunate. 5 stars and a definite must-read for Bob-White fans.
