Don't let this one get borrowed without collateral! A heartwarming classic.

I have been searching for this book for 15 years now. The only remaining title of a number of childhood favorites that I simply had to find for my own children. (I couldn't remember the proper title and that really made it difficult.) We had multiple copies growing up that got loaned and never returned. This story is so special, the little boy Jamie takes his red wagon and goes in search of the Christmas Star. Along the way he meets different people in need and helps them with his wagon. He returns home sad because he didn't find the star only to find all the people he had helped waiting for him. They each say that they saw the star in his actions. I have recounted the story as I remembered it to friends over the years and it often brought a tear to their eye. We actually made a church Christmas play out of this when I was three and I got to play Jamie. I am so thrilled to finally be able to read this book to my own children. The charming illustrations add to the appeal. Reading the story will definitely become a yearly tradition at Christmas time. (And most likely the book will be dug out throughout the year as well if they are anything like I was!)
Precious and Meaningful

I grew up reading this story. When I moved out of my parent's house as an adult, this was the one book I made sure I had in my suitcase. Now that I have a son, I will be able to share this Christmas story with him. The artwork is unforgetable. If you have a chance and find this book, get it! You and your children will end up reading it over and over.
