Wonderful book...makes the movie even better

The mummy movie starring Brendan Fraser is one of my favs so I was curious when I saw this book. Could it compare to the movie? It didn't compare to the movie...it made it way better! The characters came alive on the page and the love story between Evelyn and Rick (which seemed to appear at the end of the movie) grew as the book went on. It brought so much more to the movie and made me fall in love with Rick all over again For all of you who watched the movie for the action it is so much better on the page. The author really brought the scenes to life!

Fantastic!

I thought that the movie "The Mummy" was good so I bought the book. I thought it wouldn't be great as the movie, but it was better! The book was more understandable, fun, and interesting. I really liked Jonathan in the story because he was very funny- even more than Jonathan in the movie. I liked the way that Max Allan Collins described the book. I think that he should write another great story.

Very well written. Movie was good too.

The storyline was very good. The movie was very good too.The storyline was really enchanting,I fell totally in love with it.Horror and comedy--what a combination!Resurrecting the Mummy and The Mummy Scrapbook was very good too.Best books I've ever read.Best movie too.It was well worth my money.I guess my name being the same as the hero is very good for my ego too....(No kiddin)If you're still deciding whether to buy the book, don't hesitate!Go buy it now.You won't regret it.

This was one of the finest horror stories I've ever read.

Rick O'Connell is a captain in the French Foreign Legion, treasure hunting in the Sahara, when he stumbles upon the Lost City of the Dead. Evylen Carnarhan is a librarian fascinated with Egyptology, and she believes that O'Connell may have found the greatest archaelogical find of all time. When they set out for the City of the Dead, with Evylen's brother in tow and other treasure seekers, they have no idea about the horror which is about to confront them as they enter the long-locked realm of the undead, High Priest of Osiris, Imhotep, cursed for all time to terrorize the world and spread plagues upon it.

A gripping novel packed with action and adventure!

This novel was a real page-turner. I couldn't stop reading, and I finished it in 2 days. It started out slow in the beginning, but got faster as the story built up. The story has a strong plot and the characters were very well-developed. The scenes with the Mummy and the City of the Dead are fantastic. This was probably a great adaptation of the movie, which I'll be seeing. Max Allan Collins probably did the best adaptation of a movie then any other movie-tie in that I've read. I recommend this book to anyone!
