Bold and refreshing!

I received a free copy of MacDonald's when I visited his church. My wife and I heard him preach and, both times, we were moved by his obvious love for God and God's Word. Some of the things MacDonald writes about in his book (e.g. the US is the biblical Babylon of the end times) are certainly not original and the author does acknowledge that. What makes The Morning Comes different is that the author doesn't force the evidence or the scriptures or shy from sharing information that might make some readers uncomfortable. Because he allows scripture to interpret scripture, many will find his book offensive. That's to be expected. The Bible, God's truth, will always be offensive to the sinful mind. I'll be very skeptical of a book that receives all glowing reviews especially when it deals with sin following God's Word. Most readers today like feel-good books. The Morning Comes is not one of those books. MacDonald is sensitive to the Word of God and cares deeply about salvation so he ends each chapter with a call to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, which, I feel, is the main objective of The Morning Comes. Though the author obviously loves our nation, he doesn't hold back from sharing the truth about it. And the truth about the US, if we're honest enough, is frightful and sad. Only the blind will insist that everything is fine. The criticism of the author as Catholic-bashing and unpatriotic is far from true. One need only read and study the history of the Roman Church (and the US) to know that the author is right on the important issues, particularly the Roman Church's emphasis on tradition and works as basis for salvation. The Morning Comes is bold and refreshing. It is also timely and a must-read for every Christian American who cares about what's happening to our nation. I appreciate MacDonald's honesty. I like his writing style. My only criticism of the book is technical (editorial); quite a few typos e.g. use of "than" when the text calls for "then" and the use of the possessive "Babylon's" instead of "Babylons" as in "the 3 Babylons." The book is published by XLibris, a POD outfit so the typos can easily be fixed for the next books. Thank you, Byron MacDonald, for the timely message. We need this kind of message now more than ever. And I look forward to hearing more of your sermons.

Encouraged

I've been a Christian for 30 years and I have never read a book that made more sense of prophecy than The Morning Comes and Also the Night. Byron MacDonald researched his material, orgainized his thoughts and used convincing arguements for his conclusions and theroies. I think it's a useful tool for evangelizing the Gospel, and explaining why Christians have hope. God has a plan. With reading the Bible we can learn and trust that plan to come to pass just as soon as God's ready. The point of the book is,; Are we ready?

A great overview of the end times

Though not obvious from its title, this book provides a well-written overview of the Bible's description of the end times. It reviews the descriptions in Revelation and several other books in the Old and New Testament in a clear way, and weaves them together into a compelling argument that we are now the last generation. It also describes the role of the USA in these times, with clear interpretation. As a old pastor once told me, Byron MacDonald is truly a man of God. His warning and above all, his hope for the redeeming power of faith are clearly and powerfully presented in a way accessible to all.
