Beautiful, intricate and challenging

I bought this book as a beginning to knitting. It is always challenging creating socks and mittens - and these all use very fine yarn - extra time-consuming. On the other hand, the patterns repeat, so it becomes almost like a meditation to knit. These mittens are very special, and the person you knit them for will really appreciate the beauty and depth of work you put into it. This book is also lightweight and small, just right for keeping in your purse.

This is a delightful book. Some interesting history and beautiful designs that can be used for other knitted projects. The instructions are a little general, but experienced knitters can probably work with them.
Swedish mittens

These mittens are beautiful. The patterns are a bit vague, and the "adult" mittens turned out very small so you have to adjust accordingly. Nevertheless, they are by far the cutest mittens I have ever seen; I strongly recommend this book for more experienced knitters.
