An Effective and Exciting Story that Everyone Can Love

The Milesian Mistress, by Elise Garrison, is a great read that shows the life of the Milesian companion of Pericles, Aspasia, from a first person perspective. The way the author ties in so many aspects of Greek life, history, philosophy, and theater into such an interesting story is simply amazing. The author also does a great job of showing how people in the Classical World had the same sort of hopes, dreams, and fears as we have today. The novel is written in a colloquial style which allows the reader to read quickly and effectively without much difficulty. It is perfect for anyone interested in learning more about Classical Athens, classical history, or about the lives of women in the classical world. It is also ideal for teachers or professors who are interested in comparing Greek culture to modern times. The Milesian Mistress is a book for every kind of person.
