You just buried a friend, and now the world feels like a lonely place to be. An accident, suicide, sickness or drowning in their sleep, it doesn't matter, all you know is that they are gone. Everything you have known and built with them becomes a memory. No one is going to belly laugh at your jokes and make you dance to your favourite song. Their name will be close to a reminisce, and you will find it heartbreaking that they will never get to age. To you, they will be as young as their last photograph. You won't see much to life anymore, and feel bad when you catch yourself smiling or considering someone else a friend. You guilt yourself into being miserable because you believe that being happy and not thinking about them a lot means erasing their existence from yours.
However, the years always remind us that burying a friend is all that is to it.
