Too short and a missed opportunity

This is the first book written about two Native Americans in The Men of White Sandy series! It is not like the 3 before that have a great story behind them. I was disappointed that her chance to write about Clarence Thunder and Tammy Tall Trees was limited to such a short novel. The author should have written more about Clarence; his past, why he enlisted, chose to be a nurse, and other details about his life. In the 3 previous books the author writes about what each person is thinking. Not so much with Clarence. This is mostly Tammy’s story. Not Clarence’s. I do recommend reading it because it does link the story through out her novels in this series along. Barely but it’s there nonetheless. The following book, The Sheriff, is better and her last book is too. Personal I feel the first 3 books in this series to be her best.
