A good read

I liked the treatment of the characters in this book. They seemed real and had their own problems to work through.

Disappointing DP.

I got this book an ebook, because I just couldnt wait until December to read Harley's story. Although it wasn't a bad book, it wasnt up to regular DP standards.. I love Diana Palmer and where some people hate how the hero treats the heroine, that is what keeps me reading her books. Harley was a sweetheart throughout the book so I was a bit disappointed. This got 4 stars for the simple fact its a Diana Palmer. But based on the book I would give it a 3..

The Maverick

I have to admit that I had stopped ordering DP's books due to the fact that I got to hate the main characters. The men were always so verbally abusive to these whimpy, virginal women who they loved but would not confess it until they are almost killed. As for Harley I loved his character since Lionhearted and waited with hopes that DP would change her writing of her characters. I gave The Maverick 5 stars because she kept Harley as a man that any woman would be proud of to call their own. Not once did he get rude or treat Alice like she was nothing. Alice was a strong, funny and a very likable character. Even though she was still made to be a 26 year old virgin with a family of Baptist ministers, she was not the typical mousy "I do not know anything type". These are two of the best characters I have enjoyed from DP in a long time. I was just sorry that their story was so short. As for the murder mystery not being solved that just keeps you reading on and on. No different from a TV series. I am looking forward to the Kilraven story line but I will admit that I am nervous that DP is going to make him as verbally abusive as some of her past characters because the background on him and the previous murders of his wife and child will make him that way to protect his new virginal love interest. My hopes that she will start writing better personalities for her characters. Let them have personal issues and fears to deal with, all I ask is let them handle it in a mature fashion and not come across as a jerk!

Love Made Easy

I loved this book, although I hated the beginning of it, the rest was really good, I think I've gotten used to Ms Palmer introducing us to the next characters in her up coming books, but the build up of this book lead me to believe Alice was going to be put in danger because of Harley's past, it didn't happen, but that's ok. I loved that fact that she fell in love with him and told him from the start she was going to marry him, I laughed my self silly when he agreed. The only other part of the book I had trouble with were the mice; they avoided capture by biting a cat together on his front paws, then did a gremlin thing on the exterminator's truck. Well that was just too much literary license for me. Thanks Ms Palmer. Keep up the good work.

Harley's Story...finally!

I absolutely LOVED this book. We have been waiting so long for Harley's story and it does not disappoint! The humor gets you right off the bat....Alice is so funny and goes after Harley with great determination, not in a bad way and humor. From the get go you know these two are meant for each other and the story unfolds so beautifully with a murder mystery thrown in. You finally learn of Harley's family also. You also get a sneak peak into what Kilraven's book will entail as well. I cannot say enough good things about this story. It has left me impatiently waiting for Kilraven's book so I can find out what happens next!
