When the granddaughter of his life-long nemesis arrives from the Pacific Islands, Boston shipbuilder Lock McKin is determined to dislike her but is instead aroused by her beauty. This description may be from another edition of this product.
The back of the book blurb reads:"The Legendary composure of Boston shipbuilder Lock McKin is shaken by the arrival of a stunning jewel from the Pacific Islands--a mysterious mixed-blood beauty called Lili, who claims to be the grandaughter of Lock's lifelong nemesis. Outspoken and audacious, she enflames the master shipwright's passion and fiery Scottish temper...yet possesses a touching vulnerability that breaches the battlements he errected to safeguard his emotions. A marriage of convenience to the enchantress offers Lock an opportunity to avenge the wrongs of his enemy. But Lili is a woman best by inner tomrents and plagued by ghosts of a devasting past--giving rise to a shocking scandal that could destry the handsome "Iron Man" whom she has grown to love with all her heart and soul."I loved this book. It has become one of my all time favorites for re-reads. I found this book and "Angel Eyes" in a used book store several years ago. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any more works by this author. Everytime I re-read this one after a long time, the story makes me teary eyed. Constance or "Lili" is such a full personality of insecurities and passions that she is just an unbelievable heart wrenching character. It's a painful reading sometime because Lock is sometimes so mean to Constance. But his doubts to her sanity can be explained as well. This book has everything, passion, drama, love, laughter, suspense and more. It was a very well written book. I would recommend this book to anyone that can find it.
