It's always a little scary reading a book by someone you know - what if you don't like it? In the case of The Marysburg Chronicles: Critical Mass, that worry was gone by the second page. The thriller part of the story had me going almost to the end, the romance had me rooting for the leads to finally get together, and the science involved was plausible. The details of the Mankato and Madison areas were vivid. I could feel the humidity of summer, hear the endless prairie wind. The title implies there may be further Chronicles - I really hope that's the case.

I love the character of Catherine - she's intelligent and strong but not too tough. The relationship between her and Daniel is the heart of the story. The book is well written and unlike anything I've read before. A whole new genre has been created and I'm looking forward to seeing where the story goes!
Read and enjoy!

As one born and raised in Minnesota, I am very familiar with the region that is the setting in this novel. You see, almost 70 years ago my parents were married at the Burg. My Great-grandparents, Grand-parents, Aunts and Uncles are buried in the little cemetary behind the Church of the Immaculate Conception, otherwise known as Marysburg - the Burg. As I approached the final pages of this book I found myself wishing it wouldn't end. I look forward with great expectations to the next in a series of the Marysburg Chronicles.
An intriguing, richly rewarding "read"

From the very beginning, the author grabs you and hurtles you into a complex plot rich in historical detail and filled with fascinating characters. The reader can feel and "see" every scene, and the "otherworldly" elements of the story are handled with complete believability. You want more when you've finished this novel. I hope the author has more to say, so that readers can delve into the intricate multi-generational aspects of the story in succeeding novels. Unique and compelling. You've got to read this book!!
