The dishwasher retells the story of a very private librarian who gives a home to a writer looking for a quiet space in which to weave his magic. And Fenn learns that her own grandmother may have played a very important role in the balance of the marshland. Through the tales, Fenn learns about the reason for her mother's estrangement from her parents but finds something more in understanding her own place in this magical community.
