This book speaks directly to the fundamentals needed to sell more today

In his new book, Paul has skillfully woven the powers of philosophy, human psychology and professional selling around the spindle of change. What managers often overlook is the fact that all business progress demands that we change how we think, how we approach customers, how we sell and how we define and create customer value. Paul, who has the mental flexibility of an acrobat explains that when it comes to buying the latest and greatest technology, we act like children. We are always eager to explore the latest and greatest. Without hesitation we discard obsolete products and celebrate another leap forward. The point is that we all love to buy external change, but we all resist internal change. We all know that many people resist rapid change to the extent that they become unproductive, unhappy and often unemployed. Paul reminds us that we are all in the driver's seat. We can make a conscious decision to allow ourselves to win through change. The sole purpose of Paul's book is to learn how to drive change; to be the master, not the slave of change. When we empower ourselves to change, we'll liberate ourselves from the ever-present threat of obsolescence.

Nothing changes, if nothing changes!

So what's your excuse for why you are not successfully selling in this 'down market'? Bad Economy? Unemployment? Wall Street? Housing Market? Banks? Auto Industry? The President? The Past President? Congress? And the list could go on. And while many of these do affect us, there's not much we can do about changing any of them. Then you hear about those people who in the same market, are having very successful selling results. Doesn't that make you angry. When we are at that terrible place, where there is nothing to blame, and we see others being successful - What are we to do? Read Paul's book! Paul offers a wide variety of approaches to changing your attitude and outlook on difficult sales situations and to helping you to change the one thing that you can change. YOURSELF! Successful selling strategies, in nice bite-size pieces. Try some. You'll like it.

Great book for anyone wanting to improve sales in this down economy!

Paul D' Souza does a great job in this book to help people understand the importance of continued improvement, not only in business and sales but more important, yourself. Many of his ideas ring so true in today's crazy business environment. Right from the beginning of the book, he asks the questions, "If hard work isn't getting you anywhere, where will you get if you work twice as hard in the same way?" How right he is. Paul lays out a very systematic approach for you to follow to work smarter, not just harder. He does a great job of mixing his philosophy, influenced by his martial arts background, with rock solid advice on committing to win through proven strategies. At the end of every chapter, Paul asks the reader to stop and think about what you have just read. Then he gives an exercise to practice the new ideas, so it is easy to put his ideas in action. There were parts of the book which just reinforced to me that Paul D' Souza has been there before, because I have had similar situations and come to the same conclusions over my sales career. Benefit to the reader is that they won't have to make the mistakes I did to learn the lesson. Paul lays out the right path to avoid the mistakes. Overall, this is a must read for people looking to understand the importance of becoming a better person but Paul understands that the intangibles are just the glue, he also combines the tangible pieces of the puzzle of improving yourself and ultimately, your business and sales.

"Zen and the Art of Sales" - this book really works

I just finished reading this book and I found it incredibly insightful, useful and current. This is a very practical book that takes into account the person doing the selling as unique. Each one of us is faced with our own particular challenges when it comes to selling and Paul D'Souza does a great job of dealing with salespeople as individuals with inner desires and wants that effect their "outer" world. I have not seen a book on sales that covers this aspect of selling more thoroughly. The book also provides many useful exercises and tools that will make you a better salesperson.
