The Tales Behind 4 Stories

Sandford has a most enjoyable writing style. Here he looks at 5 people in the Book of Genesis who had encounters with the Divine. Stanford points out their flaws and qwerks. He takes them down off their pedistals as patriarchs, dusts the stories off and then shows the workings of God on their spiritual and personal growth. Jungean concepts are used freely, especially individuation, which is a process we all are called to go through. 4 Stars? This is not a book that would appeal to all. Literalist beware. It is a grace filled little book and is quick reading. And if some of the material presented ends up in a sermon, I'll never tell.
