A demon in the guise of a magic pot outwits a greedy, rich man and brings wealth and happiness to a poor old fellow and his wife. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I read this book as a child and it is currently my 2 1/2 year old daughter's favorite. She calls it the Hucka-pucka book and we have read it 3-5 times a day since she discovered it in a pile of my old things. I highly recommend this book, it is engaging and easy to read to a child (and fun to read as an adult).
A childhood fave

I loved this book as a child (I'm now 32) and still read it to my children. I think the fact that it is so "just" in giving to the poor and taking from the rich, it pleases me in a profound way. It's definitely a fable and the moral to the story is that you will get yours if you don't give a helping hand! I don't know why I still remember this book that is obviously not in print anymore.
great book
