Book Overview

THE MADNESS OF GEORGE W. BUSH: A REFLECTION OF OUR COLLECTIVE PSYCHOSIS by Paul Levy In this ground-breaking work, Paul Levy explores whether the madness that George W. Bush has fallen into is showing us something particularly important about ourselves. What if Bush's madness is a reflection of our own potential for madness? What if Bush has been collectively dreamed up to play out, in full-bodied form, a pathological role existing deep within the...

"IN A DEMOCRACY YOU GET THE KIND OF LEADER YOU DESERVE"

Bush and his administration has been doing precisely what I would expect them to do. This is why I didn't vote for him TWICE. The riddle I have been chewing on for these years is that a bunch of people DID VOTE FOR HIM TWICE! WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY THINKING!!!? Paul Levy in this book explores this riddle as the collective psychosis that it is. In a country founded on the system "...of, for, and by the people" there are risks. These risks are well worth taking as there has not emerged a better political system. For this brilliant system of democracy to work it DOES require an awareness of the complexities of the individual and collective nature of our fellow citizens. This book beautifully holds a mirror up to the collective soul of America and in essence says, "We have met the disease, and it is us". The first step to curing a disease is to know the disease. This book provides the microscope to view the germ and possibly the needed vaccine. My only regret is with the COVER the publisher chose to give this book. The sophistication and intelligence of this book deserves better.

A truly transformational book...

This book by Paul Levy is groundbreaking because it articulates what is happening on the world stage from a psycho-spiritual point of view and shows how its all a part of the collective dream that we are all dreaming up together. Paul's book incorporates many different perspectives including Jungian, Buddhist, Quantum Physics and Gnostic Christian thought into his own unique description of the collective psychosis that is playing itself out in our world. He illuminates ways in which we can process it and become conscious of it so as to dream a more positive and healthy world into existence. A unique aspect of Paul's approach is that he not only lays out a compelling description of the problem we are facing in this world at this critical point in history but he also presents a higher level understanding of the purpose and opportunity hidden within it. When you finish reading the book you are left feeling empowered and more awake to what's happening in this world and with a clear idea of how one individual can make a difference as part of the interconnected whole. A MUST READ!

A MUST READ BOOK !

Paul Levy has given us a brilliant look into cutting edge psychology in this new book. Masterfully woven with the words of Karl Jung, Levy gives answers concerning not only Bush, but the current nature of this country's collective consciousness. As a mental health professional, I consider this work to be a breath of fresh air in its philosophy, delivery, and insight into a nation and ourselves. This is a call to consciousness, a call to WAKE UP AMERICA ! BUY THIS BOOK !

Much more than just another "Bush-bashing" book...

In fact, this book is not even so much about politics perse, as it is about what Bush mirrors in our collective psychosis, and about taking individual responsibility by coming to terms with this fact, albeit in your own personal way. Mr. Levy draws heavily on the works of Carl Jung to make his case, which is particularly appropriate given the historical context in which Jung was writing -- during Hitler's rise to power in Germany. This is a very facinating piece of writing that will undoubtedly challenge your thinking, regardless of your political views, and could make a real difference if it is as widely read as it deserves to be. Highly recommended for curious minds and adventurous souls seeking to help create a better world. Review by: John Hubbird
