Nobody tells it like Mad Magazine and they have no qualms about telling the unvarnished truth, no matter how ugly or disturbing. The writers of Mad Magazine have no equal when it comes to lampooning society and how the individual people behave. Like most of the Mad books, the material in this one is funny, but in the dark, "Yes, that is so true" manner. While most of the humor is timeless, there are a few sections where some knowledge of the times (1983) is necessary to completely understand the story. For example, it is easier to understand the section "The Championship Belt" if you are familiar with the "Rocky" movies starring Sylvester Stallone. Nevertheless, the humor in anything Mad is always worth reading, it can be described as dumb humor for smart people.
