For any fan of the game, this book is a delight to peruse, even though it lacked a great deal of direction and substance; there was much notable baseball history missing here. However, in a game so rich in tradition, it's still a very worthy effort from the team of writers. This is a loving romp through baseball history; although a bit like driving around the country with no map. You'll see a lot of sights, but it's hard to tell exactly where you're going. You've just got to sit back, relax, and take it all in. It's still a nice trip.
