A truely must read for all

My thanks to a thinking, feeling author who can take her little (and not so little )readers on a safe but emotional journey that lasts a lifetime. As one little reader said to me 'I can never give this book away because it really is my tree.'I think I know how she felt. It's a wonderful book, but where are the rest? I can't believe this is a one book only,(for children) author.

Pick me! Pick me! "The Lonesome Pine"

I can't tell you how much my daughter loves this book. In the heat of August she loves requesting "The Christmas Tree Book" (as she calls it). Talk about an evergreen! I recently started playing the recorded version for her, and she loves it! She also loves seeing it in bookstores, because it's distinct shape is so familiar to her. This book has so much heart that it generates good feelings wherever you run into it! I love the message as well as the time I get to spend with my daughter. Even when I play the CD, I still like to sit with her and turn the pages. It's a time in our lives that we'll never forget. This is a special book, a classic, as is the recorded version. Well done!

The Lonesome Pine--not just a book for children!

The Lonesome Pine is a wonderful account of a tree's exciting, and sometimes scary, journey to reach his full potential for what he is meant to be! You will find yourself laughing and crying! It reminds us that we are all special and should not be afraid of our future--we all have a destiny and have the potential to fulfill it! The writing is brilliant and the pictures are amazing, ENJOY!!

A Must Have For Children, Parents, Teachers and Classrooms!

As a second grade teacher I am always looking for new books that my children have not yet heard. This past week I was fortunate enough to have a guest parent reader share a book that has made it to my "Top 10 Favorite Children's Books" list. It was the story of The Lonesome Tree. My students and I were immediately intrigued by the unique shape of the book. My students and I sat silently staring at the book as each page, written in verse, was read to us. I knew right then and there that this book would be enjoyed by all. When nineteen 7 and 8 years olds can sit still for a book, on a Friday, a week from Christmas, you know you have a winner! This book is a must have for all parents, children, teachers and classrooms. Not only a great story, but a lesson learned for all. "Sometimes things don't work out as we may have wished, but everything happens for a reason. In the end our true gifts will be shared with all" Enjoy this book, with your children, or by yourself, for many years to come

Most Beautiful and Touching Children's book

If you are looking for that "new classic", you have found it in the Lonesome Pine. Haylett Publishing has released a charming tale of the Christmas tree that doesn't get picked. Written in verse, the story is a natural to read aloud to young and old alike. I loved following the Lonesome Pine through the vissisitudes of treedom after the holidays. Through no fault of his own, he did not become what he so wanted to be, somthing of limited use. Instead, the Lonesome Pine triumphs to become much more than he could have ever imagined. A wonderful message for children of all ages.
