This is a lovely & loving story. The pictures are beautiful. My step brother-in-law is the artist and he's an award winning illustrator of some very special children's books including RAINBABIES.

A touching holiday story

Reviewed by Cayden Aures (age 5) and Mom for Reader Views (11/09) "The Little Fir Tree" by Margaret Wise Brown is the story of a little tree that stands all by himself in an empty field away from all of the other trees. After seven lonely years he finally finds himself to be a part of something very special. Cayden: "I liked when the man took the tree to the boy who couldn't walk. Then I liked when he put the tree back in the field for the other seasons. The tree wasn't lonely anymore and the boy was happy too. My favorite part was the end of the book though- that was a good story! The pictures in the book were good too. The one I liked best was when the tree was all decorated with lights and ornaments and the people were singing around it." Parent's comments: "The Little Fir Tree" by Margaret Wise Brown is a heartwarming holiday book illustrated with beautiful paintings by Jim LaMarche. Although apparently a classic holiday story, I had not read it before and was pleasantly surprised with the ending. We highly recommend this touching book for the upcoming holiday season.

A sweetheart of a story

You may remember this one from your childhood and now it's time for the grandchildren to have a chance. This is a before Christmas read full of gentle life lessons of kindness and true Christmas spirit. A great story to read and reread. This one will be a family classic to pull out every year and be passed from parent to child for years to come.

Touching and moving story

What a beautiful book! I just read this to my son and it brought tears to my heart. A touching and moving story about the love of a father. To say this is a book just about Christmas is to miss the point entirely - it is a book about how the Christmas spirit is alive and well throughout the year and a reminder of how we should celebrate that love daily.
