I love this fat little book for several reasons. 970 pages in small book format, it has very little text, and the most interesting pictures I have ever seen. It's easy to spend time with this book. Open it anywhere-try to guess what you are looking at. Beautiful photos of animals of all sorts that are remarkable in some way, like the Bower Bird making a nest, or how about Ring-tail Lemurs, a Puffin with a fish in his beak. There is no end to this. Every page, living color, is new every time you look at it. There are no insects, spiders, or other gross or scary pictures--unless you think shark teeth are scary! I am ordering this for my grandson, age 8.
